N.B. health officials report one new COVID-19 infections as active cases drop
FREDERICTON — New Brunswick is reporting one new case of COVID-19 today.
Health officials say the case in the Edmundston region involves a person in their 30s who is a close contact of a previously reported infection.
Meanwhile, the number of active cases in the province continues to drop: there are 49 active reported COVID-19 infections compared with 111 last Thursday.
Officials say two patients are in hospital with the disease, including one in intensive care.
New Brunswick has reported a total of 1,427 COVID-19 cases and 26 deaths linked to the novel coronavirus.
The entire province remains under the "orange" pandemic-alert level, which permits gyms and restaurant dining rooms to operate under strict conditions.
