ThinkPol is an independent media organization owned and operated by ThinkPol Media Inc. ThinkPol was founded in 2015 during the run up to the federal election that year by a group eight individuals from many walks of life, including former journalists, entrepreneurs, labour leaders, environmentalists and former public servants. The founders, who represent five different Canadians provinces, established ThinkPol to plug the holes in Canada’s media landscape created as a result of corporate consolidation of news outlets.

ThinkPol is funded entirely by reader donations, and advertising. The technical and administrative services for ThinkPol are provided by the founders on entirely voluntary basis. ThinkPol does not accept funding from third parties.
