Health officials in New Brunswick report 55 new COVID-19 cases and one death
FREDERICTON — Health officials in New Brunswick are reporting 55 new cases of COVID-19 in the province today and another COVID-19-related death.
A person in their 70s in the Fredericton area has died as a result of COVID-19.
There have been 93 recoveries, lowering the number of active cases to 667.
Chief medical officer of health Dr. Jennifer Russell says there are 66 people hospitalized, including 15 in intensive care.
She says outbreaks have been declared at three hospitals in the province — Moncton, Saint John and Miramichi.
Health officials say 81.7 per cent of eligible New Brunswickers are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and 86.7 per cent have received their first dose.
