New Brunswick officials report 133 new COVID-19 cases Saturday and two related deaths

FREDERICTON — Health officials in New Brunswick are reporting 133 new cases of COVID-19 today and two more COVID-19 related deaths. 

The deaths involve a person in their 60s and one in their 80s -- both in the Miramichi region.  

There are 40 people hospitalized including 13 in intensive care.  

Officials say seven people are on a ventilator.  

To date, 30 cases have been confirmed to be the Omicron variant.  

So far 82.6 per cent of eligible New Brunswickers are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, 89.3 per cent have gotten their first dose, and 12.8 per cent have received a booster dose of vaccine.
