Health officials report four new COVID-19 cases on Prince Edward Island

CHARLOTTETOWN — Health officials in Prince Edward Island are reporting four new cases of COVID-19.

Three of the infections involve contacts of previously announced cases and are linked to the cluster that began in Prince County, while the fourth case is related to travel outside the province.

The province currently has 22 active cases of COVID-19.

Three Oaks Senior High School in Summerside was closed today to allow for contact tracing, testing and cleaning after a case was announced Sunday.

Officials say the risk of transmission is believed to be low, and the situation is not considered an outbreak at this time.

The school will reopen Tuesday.
