New Brunswick health officials urge vaccination as they report 35 new COVID-19 cases
FREDERICTON — Health officials in New Brunswick are reporting 35 new cases of COVID-19 in the province today and say 30 of the cases involve people who are not fully vaccinated.
There are now 244 active cases of COVID-19 in the province, with 11 people hospitalized and eight of them in intensive care.
Officials are also confirming a positive case at Fredericton High School and one at Andover Elementary School in Perth-Andover.
Provincial guidelines require schools with cases to close or move to online learning for at least one day to allow for contact tracing.
As of today, 77 per cent of eligible New Brunswickers are fully vaccinated with two doses while 85.6 per cent have received one dose.
Officials are urging anyone not fully vaccinated to go to a walk-in clinic or book an appointment with their pharmacy or health authority.
