FREDERICTON — Health officials in New Brunswick are reporting 13 new cases of COVID-19 today and say the government's vaccination target is still not attained.

Officials say two new cases are in the Moncton region, six are in the Fredericton region, three are in the Bathurst area, and there is one case in each of the Edmundston and Miramichi regions.

They are declaring an outbreak at the Vida Living apartment complex in Oromocto, N.B., and are confirming a positive case of COVID-19 at Leo Hayes High School in Fredericton.

New Brunswick has 105 active reported cases of COVID-19 and three patients in hospital with the disease. One New Brunswicker is hospitalized with COVID-19 out of province.

So far, 72.2 per cent of New Brunswickers aged 12 and older have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

Another 19,511 people need to get a first dose of vaccine to reach the 75 per cent mark, which the government says is necessary before it begins to lift COVID-19 health orders.
