Pandemic record for Manitoba: Province reports 560 new COVID-19 cases
WINNIPEG — The Manitoba government is reporting a record 560 new COVID-19 cases.
Even with three earlier cases removed due to data correction, the number surpasses the previous high of 546 last November.
Health officials are also reporting three deaths — one in Winnipeg and two in western Manitoba.
The province registered its 1,000th COVID-linked death on Wednesday.
Premier Brian Pallister says the numbers should improve soon as a result of public health orders that were toughened two weeks ago.
He says it's important for people to continue following restrictions even though more vaccines are being given.
