VANCOUVER โ€” Abbotsford-Mission election results as of Oct. 24, 2020 at 11:12 p.m.:

Simon Gibson of the BC Liberal Party is leading Pam Alexis of the NDP by 106 votes in Abbotsford-Mission. Gibson won 6,711 out of 17,157 votes (39.12 per cent) with 97 of 99 polls reporting.

Pam Alexis of the NDP won 6,605 votes (38.50 per cent). Stephen Fowler of the Green party won 1,784 votes (10.40 per cent). Trevor Hamilton of the Conservative party won 1,570 votes (9.15 per cent). Aeriol Alderking of the Christian Heritage Party of BC won 487 votes (2.84 per cent).

As of 11:12 p.m., The Canadian Press is projecting the BC NDP has won a majority government. The party has won or is leading in 55 of 87 seats. The BC Liberal Party has won or is leading in 29, and the BC Green Party has won or is leading in three seats.

As of Oct. 23, 8,119 vote-by-mail packages had been issued to registered voters in the riding. There are a total of 41,764 registered voters in Abbotsford-Mission.

Provincewide, 724,279 mail-in ballots have been sent out, and there are 3,485,858 registered voters.

Mail-in ballots will be counted by hand, starting in 13 days.
