North Vancouver-Seymour election riding preview

VANCOUVER — In the last election in North Vancouver-Seymour, Jane Thornthwaite of the BC Liberal Party took 46.36 per cent of the vote, defeating Michael Rene Charrois of the NDP by a margin of 11.89 percentage points.

Thornthwaite is up for re-election this year. Charrois, however, is not running again.

Harrison Johnston is the candidate for the Green party and Susie Chant is running for the NDP.

Also in the race is Clayton Welwood for the Libertarian party.

The North Vancouver-Seymour riding is located in Metro Vancouver.

There are 41,788 registered voters in the riding, compared to 40,650 in the last election.

As of Oct. 20, 11,856 vote-by-mail packages had been issued to registered voters.

The previous voter turnout rate in the riding was 70.33 per cent, compared to 61.18 per cent provincewide.

At dissolution, the NDP held 41 seats, the BC Liberal Party had 41 seats and the Green party two seats. Two seats were held by Independents and one seat was vacant.
