Maple Ridge-Mission election riding preview

VANCOUVER — It was a tight race in the last election in Maple Ridge-Mission when Bob D'Eith of the NDP took 41.94 per cent of the vote, defeating Marc Dalton of the BC Liberal Party by a margin of 1.24 percentage points.

D'Eith is up for re-election this year. Dalton, however, is not running again.

Chelsa Meadus is the candidate for the BC Liberal Party and Matt Trenholm is running for the Green party.

The Maple Ridge-Mission riding includes the communities of Vancouver and Mission.

There are 47,402 registered voters in the riding, compared to 42,678 in the last election.

As of Oct. 20, 9,088 vote-by-mail packages had been issued to registered voters.

The previous voter turnout rate in the riding was 61.69 per cent, compared to 61.18 per cent provincewide.

At dissolution, the NDP held 41 seats, the BC Liberal Party had 41 seats and the Green party two seats. Two seats were held by Independents and one seat was vacant.
