Saskatchewan Party Leader Scott Moe promises 10 per cent electricity rebate

REGINA โ€” Saskatchewan Party Leader Scott Moe is promising to give customers a break on their power bills if his party is re-elected on Oct.26.

It would consist of a 10 per cent rebate to all SaskPower customers for one year starting in December.

On a campaign stop in Regina, Moe said the rebate would save the average residential customer about $215 for the year and the average farmer about $845.

It would also apply to power bills for school divisions, hospitals and universities.

It's expected the one-year rebate would cost $261 million.

It's the second election promise Moe has made running on a platform to recover the economy from the COVID-19 pandemic and make residents' lives more affordable.

On Wednesday, he promised to introduce a new tax credit for home renovations.
