FREDERICTON — Health officials in New Brunswick are reporting 54 new cases of COVID-19 over the last four days and another death related to the illness.
They say a person from the Moncton region in their 70s has died as a result of COVID-19, bringing the number of COVID-19-related deaths in the province to 47.
Chief medical officer of health Dr. Jennifer Russell says there's a four-day total of 54 new cases and 54 new recoveries, and the number of active cases is 125.
Thirteen of the new cases are in the Moncton area, while the Fredericton and Edmundston areas each have 11 new cases.
There are eight new cases in the Campbellton region, seven in the Miramichi area and four in the Bathurst region.
There are four people hospitalized due to the virus, with three in an intensive care unit.
