Health officials in New Brunswick report 11 new cases of COVID-19

FREDERICTON — New Brunswick is reporting 11 new cases of COVID-19 today. 

Nine new cases are in the Moncton region and two are in the Saint John area. 

New Brunswick has 68 active reported cases.

Chief medical officer of health Dr. Jennifer Russell is urging parents to ensure their children 12 and over are vaccinated before the start of the school year.  

She says more than 11,000 New Brunswickers between the ages of 12 and 19 are not fully vaccinated and roughly 19,000 have yet to receive a first dose.

Education Minister Dominic Cardy says COVID-19 guidelines for the 2021-22 school year will be announced by the end of next week.
