Vancouver-Point Grey election riding preview

VANCOUVER — It was a landslide victory in the last election in Vancouver-Point Grey when David Eby of the NDP took 55.94 per cent of the vote, defeating James Lombardi of the BC Liberal Party by a margin of 22.78 percentage points.

Eby, who served as the attorney general, is up for re-election this year. Lombardi, however, is not running again.

Devyani Singh is the candidate for the Green party and Mark Bowen is running for the BC Liberal Party.

The Vancouver-Point Grey riding is located in Vancouver.

There are 40,532 registered voters in the riding, compared to 40,037 in the last election.

As of Oct. 20, 12,228 vote-by-mail packages had been issued to registered voters.

The previous voter turnout rate in the riding was 63.63 per cent, compared to 61.18 per cent provincewide.

At dissolution, the NDP held 41 seats, the BC Liberal Party had 41 seats and the Green party two seats. Two seats were held by Independents and one seat was vacant.
