Delta North election riding preview

VANCOUVER — In the last election in Delta North, Ravi Kahlon of the NDP took 48.83 per cent of the vote, defeating Scott Hamilton of the BC Liberal Party by a margin of 9.14 percentage points.

Kahlon is up for re-election this year. Hamilton, however, is not running again.

Jet Sunner is the candidate for the BC Liberal Party and Neema Manral is running for the Green party.

The Delta North riding is located in Vancouver.

There are 37,998 registered voters in the riding, compared to 36,319 in the last election.

As of Oct. 20, 6,967 vote-by-mail packages had been issued to registered voters.

The previous voter turnout rate in the riding was 64.99 per cent, compared to 61.18 per cent provincewide.

At dissolution, the NDP held 41 seats, the BC Liberal Party had 41 seats and the Green party two seats. Two seats were held by Independents and one seat was vacant.
