SASKATOON — The Saskatchewan Party is promising to spend more than $800 million on new programs and rebates over the next four years if it is re-elected.
Leader Scott Moe outlined the party's platform in Saskatoon today as the campaign for the Oct. 26 vote nears its mid-way point.
Most of the promises have already been announced, such as committing to provide SaskPower customers with a 10 per cent rebate on power bills.
The party says it designed its platform in such a way that it will be able to eliminate the provincial deficit of $2.1 billion by 2024-25.
Before the campaign began, finance officials said the four-year timeline was based on assumptions that the spread of COVID-19 will remain low and major economic lockdowns can be avoided.
The party says the platform will be mailed out to residents ahead of election day.
