New Brunswick reports three new cases of COVID-19 in Campbellton area

FREDERICTON โ€” New Brunswick is reporting three new cases of COVID-19 in the Campbellton area.

Dr. Jennifer Russell, the province's chief medical officer of health, said today the cases involve a person under the age of 19, someone between the ages of 40 and 49, and a person between the ages of 60 and 69.

Nearly two weeks ago, authorities reported outbreaks in the Campbellton and Moncton regions.

Of the 103 active cases of COVID-19 in New Brunswick, 57 are located in the Campbellton-Restigouche area, located by the border with Quebec's Gaspe region.

Russell says cases associated with the Moncton outbreak are declining and is recommending that certain restrictions imposed on the area be eased on Thursday.

New Brunswick has reported a total of 313 cases of COVID-19 and three deaths attributed to the novel coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic.
